Baton Rouge, La. – September
11, 2007 – Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge today announced at the Downtown
Development District meeting the introduction of a new television show, Hollywood Presents Downtown, which will
showcase all the latest updates and events from downtown Baton Rouge.
Well-known personality Scott
Rogers of the Around Town Weekend Show acts as host of the 30-minute program,
which will include guest interviews, video vignettes along with a calendar of
upcoming events. Shot on the Hollywood
property in Studio 7, the show will begin airing in November on Cox.
“We’ve known for 12 years
that downtown is the place to be. Now we want to make sure everyone knows that too,”
said Jon Zimmerman, General Manager of Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge. “No matter
what your age, if you want to know all that is fun and interesting downtown,
this is the show to watch.”
Hollywood Casino will
work closely with the Downtown Development District (DDD) and the Downtown
Business Association (DBA) to highlight and to share the latest news.
“The momentum and
excitement driving downtown continues to grow and grow,” said Davis Rhorer, Executive
Director of the DDD. “Whether you want to live, to work, or to play downtown,
we have something for you. Now you can
just switch on your TV and see what’s going on.”
The Hollywood Presents Downtown show allows the downtown community of
Baton Rouge to come together and to share news of the attractions, businesses,
and entertainment choices.
“Whether it is Live After
Five, the LSU game-day shuttle, or the latest movie shoot, the downtown community
is always working together,” said Gayle Carnahan, President of the DBA.
Carnahan added, “a thriving and active downtown attracts
locals – and tourists – to help drive our economy and support the city as a
whole. Now here’s a new show that encourages everyone to Be Downtown.”
