Rabbi Offers Holiday Blessings – New Year’s Eve Downtown-Style
Baton Rouge, La. – December
5, 2007 – Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge today announced the line-up of the December
edition of Hollywood Presents Downtown TV
show, which showcases the latest updates and events downtown.
Scott Rogers of the Around Town Weekend Show hosts the 30-minute program, which
is shot in Hollywood’s Studio 7 on the banks of the Mississippi River. This show airs each Wednesday in December at
8:30 p.m. on Cox 4. A new installment runs
each month.
This new show allows the
downtown community of Baton Rouge to come together and to share news of the
attractions, businesses, and entertainment options for residents and visitors
to enjoy.
This month’s interviews
include:
- Secretary
of State Jay Dardenne
appears to discuss downtown as a destination, updates on the Old State
Capitol, and why we should all work together to keep our city and state
litter-free.
- Rabbi
Barry Weinstein of the Temple
B'nai Israel discusses the importance of the One Baton Rouge initiative,
encourages local residents to celebrate the holidays at one of the
downtown churches and offers a holiday blessing.
- Austin
Van De Vate with the Hilton
Capital Center shares info on the not-to-be-missed New Year’s event
downtown.

- Holiday Food & Drink: Hollywood Executive Chef Vincent Signorelli shares a recipe
for Butternut Squash Soup as a nice addition to any holiday feast, and
Third Street Bar Happy’s Irish Pub demonstrates festive drinks.
