Hollywood, CVB Roll Out The Red Carpet To Elvis® Tribute Artists

Baton Rouge, La. – May XX 2008 – Hollywood Casino, in association with the Baton Rouge Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, today announced the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest will be held on June 20 & 21 at Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge.  

 

This global competition, licensed by Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. (EPE) is a preliminary contest leading up to Elvis Week 2008.  The Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest created by EPE is a search for the performer who is the "best representation of the legacy of Elvis Presley."

 

Baton Rouge Professional Competition

The winner of the Baton Rouge competition will travel to Elvis Week 2008, August 9 – 17 in Memphis, Tennessee to compete for the international title of the “Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist 2008.”

 

Judges will include Janna Joos, a celebrity agent, and other local celebrity judges who will be looking for talent, appearance, performance, stage presence and each contestant’s overall tribute to the King of Rock and Roll.

 

The first place contestant will receive $1,200 with two nights lodging at Hollywood Casino in Tunica, MS.  The second place performer receives $800, third place gets $600, fourth place wins $400, and fifth place receives $200.

 

Tickets

The Friday, June 20 performances include the first and second round.  The Saturday, June 21 showings will include the third then final round where the top performer will be crowned. 

 

Tickets from $20 to $50 go on sale June 2 at Box Office Gifts in the Hollywood Casino pavilion for 21 and older.
